Class Offerings

Two Mules Mercantile is offering a series of classes to help you learn some valuable life lessons while having fun and preserving traditions.  It is simple to book a class; just email me at 2mulesmercantile@gmail.com.  Certain class size stipulations may apply.  Please specify the class you are interested in in the email, as well as three tentative dates.  I will do my best to accomodate your needs.  Here are some of the lessons you might learn...

Patience

Soap Making.......................$35
Try your hand at cold-process soap making.  You will learn all the basics of making soap, including safety, raw material selection, and marketing homemade soap.  During this class, you will create two 4 ounce bars of your own signature soap to take home.  Choose from a variety of scents and mix-ins to create your own unique soap.



Bread Making.......................$35
Don't have a bread machine? No worries.  Learn to make yummy yeast breads from scratch.  You will get to bake cinnamon rolls and sourdough loaf bread during this class.  You will also get to take home your own sourdough starter to keep the tradition going.





Practice

Basics of Sewing....................$25
Learn to sew the old fashioned way.  Choose from a variety of simple projects, such as aprons and totes, that will include all basics stitches and simple closures that you need to know.

Sewing with Patterns................$55
This advanced techniques sewing class will provide you with the skills you need to tackle any sewing project.  Choose from a variety of patterns and materials.  Techniques can include zippers, machine sewing, and understanding patterns.  This class is limited to two people.

Crocheting..........................$25
Create practical pieces of art from yarn.  Learn the 5 basics stitches of crocheting while completing a washcloth or towel.  Take home your own skein of yarn and a hook to keep you practicing.

Perseverance

Quilting................................$55
Always wanted to quilt?  Get started with a simple quilted pillow top.  Class includes all materials and tools you need to create your own 18" pillow top.  Choose from a variety of simple quilt block patterns.  We recommend you take the "Basics of Sewing" class prior to this class if you have little experience sewing.

Seasonal Offerings

Pie Making..............................$25
Learn how to make a delicious, flaky, buttery pie crust from scratch.  Use this simple technique to impress all of your friends with delicious fruit and custard pies for the holidays.  Available through December.

Christmas Cards......................$30
Create a dozen of your own unique Christmas cards to fill with all of those warm holiday wishes.  Learn some simple and striking techniques for creating beautiful cards.  These techniques can be applied to a variety of occasions.  Techniques include, color selection, layering, accents, hardware, stamping, and texture.  Available through December.

Seed Starting..........................$25
Spring is in the air (or will be soon).  Get a leg up on your gardening efforts by starting your seeds indoors.  Benefit from many lessons that I had to learn the hard way.  It's okay if you don't have a green thumb.  Try out these simple solutions to hardier plants.  Available January through March.

Natural Household Cleaners...$25
Freshen up your home for the new season.  Learn how to make some simple, natural, and safe household cleaners to make your spring cleaning fresh and easy.  You will come away with several recipes and ideas, not to mention a sampling of each.
